Aug 15

WOO WOO / SOUNDBATH / DASHA SHLEYEVA / SOFT SOCIAL / FRIENDSHIP / SOUNDBATH/

Join us for a experimental soundbath and social on the gallery floor of Landdd with Woo-Woo and harpist, Dasha Shleyeva of Glacial Milk Arts.

Beginning at 7pm, we will open with a ‘soft social’ exercise with fate-fueled prompts to connect with fellow strangers in the room to make a new friend. Shortly after, Dasha will open with a guided meditation followed by harp sound immersion for 45 minutes.

We will end the night with tea, chocolate and an open floor to have a dialogue about our sonic journey.

What is a Soundbath? A Sound Bath is a sonic offering using various instrumentation and sounds to create an embodying and calming experience for the body and mind. For thousands of years, music and sound have been utilized for medicinal, healing and calming purposes all over the world. Instrumentation that has been used is rich in variety; Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, chimes, harp, vocal chanting, and crystal singing bowls to name just a few. Sound Baths have been reported to help calm the body’s central nervous system, aid in grounding the body in space, and alleviate symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, insomnia and even PTSD.

This night is in collaboration with Woo-Woo, a space for wellbeing, movement, mindfulness and community based in Portland, Or.
