HYUNGI PARK / WORKSHOP / INCENSE / WORKSHOP / HYUNGI PARK /
Incense in East Asia was historically used in rituals, measuring time, as perfume, repelling insects, and even preserving medicine. This informational and hands-on class in collaboration with Hyungi Park, a Los Angeles based multi-disciplinary artist and founder of Goyo, reviews the history of incense, incense in its different forms, and the process of making natural incense. The hands-on portion of the class covers materials, techniques, and a basic overview of crafting incense using aromatic plants to make a set of sticks and cones for your personal use at home or in ritual.
Beginning at noon, this class will last roughly 2 hrs for all skill levels. It includes all materials, an informational pamphlet, a custom wooden box, beverage and small locally made dessert.
