Weaving 101: Intro to Lap Loom

Oct  19

LANDDD  —  WORKSHOP SERIES  —  LIMITED TICKETS  —  LANDDD  — WORKSHOP SERIES — LIMITED TICKETS —

On a 15”x15” handmade Landdd Loom, we will learn the basics of weaving your very own textile. We will cover the essentials of warping, using a shuttle, basic pattern planning, various weaving techniques, troubleshooting common mistakes, and finally, removing the textile from the loom. Whether  a complete beginner or have some prior experience, this class is suitable for all skill levels, and no prior weaving knowledge is required. Our Landdd co-founder, Lillian Hardy, will lead the workshop, utilizing beginner-level weaving templates designed by Javier Reyes of rrres.

All materials will be provided, including a selection of artisanal hand-dyed wool yarn directly from our studio in Oaxaca, Mexico. We also  encourage students to bring their own fibers if they wish to incorporate them into their own weaving.

As we conclude the workshop, Landdd will photograph each student's weaving as a digital keepsake. Non-alcoholic drinks and light snacks will be provided. Limited tickets available.
